It's been a while....more from 2013 (153-154)

Back to our 2013 collection

Sometimes a pattern and fabric don't get along quite as well as we hope........

Here's a quilt Lois made using some challenging fabric.  Her idea was that if you mix it up, and then cut it up, it will hide the ugly and become a beautiful quilt.  We've had success with this principle quite often, but not this time.

The pattern used is called 'Disappearing 9 Patch'  The border helped a bit to frame it up and draw your eye away from the wild bold patterns.

Enjoy Lois's creation!

#153

Just to prove the 'Disappearing 9 Patch' would work Sue P whipped one up with fabrics with a little less wild patterns, more solids.

The truth is Lois's creation is so much more fun and memorable.

And, really I am not a fan of cutting the blocks apart once they're together anyway.  I always chuckle when people ask why we quilters cut up perfectly good fabric and sew it back together.  In the case of this quilt, I think cutting once is good enough...sew it and then move on!
