2015 twin quilts (251-257)

And now... the twin quilts created in 2015

This quilt was made out of blocks we found in a donated fabric box.  All the blocks were hand pieced.  The blocks' creator was meticulous, she marked each piece with pencil lines for the 1/4 inch stitch lines.  The donation also include all sashing and border fabric, there was even another pile of  unfinished fabric already cut and marked for sewing.  So we'll be able to make make another project to coordinate.

I felt bad sewing the blocks together with a machine.  But since I have absolutely no intention of hand sewing, I'm glad I put it together, the colors are too pretty to stay in a box.

This quilt is another giant 1/4 log cabin block adaptation.

This quilt is another giant variation quilt, this time the Courthouse Stairs.  A few big pieces of fabric and without too many seams, a twin quilt is born.

This quilt started out as a few strips of purple fabrics sewn together in a donation bag and a bunch of other purple strips ready to be sewn together.  Marriane made more strips, added sashing and created this great big Chinese Coin quilt.

This quilt was another of my Pinterest photo finds.  I cut an kitted the strips and Sue McCoy put them together.  The only problem was, I guess I didn't measure twice cut once, only measured once sometimes.  She had a lot of difficulty assembling it to fit.  I guess sometimes making a kit from a photo is not the best choice!  After is was together, we trimmed it a bit and a nice big quilt was ready to sandwich.
