A step away from quilts, walker bags for nursing homes
We decided another way to use up large quantities of fabric and make something useful for nursing homes residents was to try to make bags to tie onto walkers.
There are lots of patterns on the Internet, but I wanted to find a design that's easy to make and easy to use. So I did some research.
My mom was in a nursing home and an avid sewist all her life, so while visiting her one day, we took a walk around the home and covertly checked out all the different bags on the residents walkers. And this design was born.
They sewed up pretty easily, but we soon discovered that our sewing gang did not really like sewing them. Quilts are our preference!
This is the last of the bags we made over a couple years.
