The Pillowcase project -- 2010 (approx 350 pillowcases)

During the summer of 2010 we began our charity projects by making pillowcases for the Million Pillowcase Challenge.

We started with many yards of fabric donated by Quiltfabric.com in Willowbrook, IL.  We then cut the fabric and created kits to sew into pillowcases to be dontated to local organizations.

With the help of many volunteers and donations from Quiltfabric.com's customers we donated over 350 pillowcases to Gottlieb Hospital in Melrose Park, IL and some homeless shelters in the area.

Below are photos of the pillowcases work sessions (our sweat shop, it was really warm in there!)  and a nice collection of competed pillowcases!
